Role Description

As a Technical Trainer at Harmonic, you will work closely with Sales, Services, Operations, Product Management, and R&D teams to develop and deliver high-quality technical education.

This role requires a strong hands-on technical background in DOCSIS/CMTS and IP networking, combined with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to different audiences.

You will deliver in-depth technical Instructor-Led Training (ILT), webinars, trainer-led videos, and LMS courses on Harmonic’s Broadband solution for customers, partners, and internal teams. Instructor-led training will include hands-on labs and practical exercises tailored to customer’s network topologies and configurations.

You will configure and maintain training lab environments, collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy, support training project planning and customer training proposals, and deliver both remote and onsite training, including occasional international travel.

Location

Remote – this position is 100% remote and based in the East Coast region of the USA.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver in-depth technical instructor-led training to Harmonic customers, partners, and internal teams, both remotely and onsite.
  • Create, maintain, and improve technical training content, including LMS courses, trainer-led videos, webinars, and other digital learning materials.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Product Management, R&D, Sales, Services, and Customer Support to develop technically accurate and effective training content.
  • Support training project planning, customer training proposals, and training content lifecycle management.
  • Proctor certification exams and support the development and maintenance of technical training lab environments.
  • Assist customers and partners with training platform onboarding, scheduling, and other training-related inquiries.

What you should have

  • Strong hands-on experience with DOCSIS/CMTS and IP networking, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with Linux/Ubuntu environments, including software installation and command-line operations; familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Ability to clearly explain and present technical topics to customers and technical audiences. Candidates will be asked to deliver a short technical presentation during the interview process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluent English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PON technologies.
  • Experience creating digital learning content, including LMS courses, trainer-led videos, webinars, and e-learning materials.

Pay & Benefits

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $85,000 - $105,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
