Senior/Lead Engineer – .NET Full Stack / Cloud-Native

Location: Client location/Hybrid- NY/Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead .NET Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable, secure, and cloud-native enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET/C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React, Azure Cloud, and GitLab CI/CD, with a strong preference for candidates having hands-on experience with Identity and Access Management technologies such as OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML.

The engineer will work closely with architects, product owners, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions using modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, automation, and continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise-scale applications using .NET/C# and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Develop scalable and maintainable backend services, APIs, business logic, and integration components using modern .NET technologies.
• Build responsive, performant, and accessible user interfaces using Angular and React.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external enterprise systems.
• Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, and modern software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and perform root-cause analysis across front-end, backend, API, and cloud layers.

Identity & Security

• Design and implement secure authentication and authorization solutions using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML.
• Integrate enterprise applications with identity providers and centralized authentication platforms.
• Implement secure token-based authentication, role-based access control, claims management, and authorization policies.
• Apply enterprise security standards across application design, development, APIs, and cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with security and architecture teams to address vulnerabilities and maintain compliance requirements.

Azure Cloud & Cloud-Native Development

• Design, develop, deploy, and support applications hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Build and manage cloud-native workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Functions.
• Develop serverless and containerized solutions aligned with enterprise cloud architecture standards.
• Implement scalable, resilient, highly available application architectures using Azure services.
• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Support cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives where required.

GitLab CI/CD & DevOps

• Design and maintain complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including reusable pipeline templates and automation components.
• Implement automated build, test, security scanning, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Develop reusable GitLab pipeline templates to standardize CI/CD practices across applications and teams.
• Integrate automated testing and quality gates into deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment automation, reliability, and release velocity.
• Implement infrastructure and application deployment practices aligned with DevSecOps principles.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on architecture, coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and contribute to solution decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, security, and performance standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.

Agile Delivery

• Participate actively in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver sprint commitments.
• Break down technical requirements into actionable development tasks and provide realistic estimates.
• Contribute to automated testing, defect resolution, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Take ownership of delivery outcomes and ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong experience with .NET / .NET Core / .NET 6+ and C#.
• Strong JavaScript / TypeScript development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Angular and/or React.
• Strong experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
• Strong understanding of Git and GitLab.
• Hands-on experience designing and configuring GitLab CI/CD pipelines and reusable templates.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience with Azure Functions and serverless application development.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native application architecture, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD quality gates.
• Strong understanding of secure application development and enterprise security practices.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML.
• Experience integrating applications with enterprise Identity Providers.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, JWT, claims, RBAC, and token management.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and other DevOps tooling.
• Experience with microservices and distributed application architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure/configuration automation.
• Experience with application performance monitoring and cloud observability.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Significant professional experience in software engineering with strong .NET and JavaScript expertise.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise applications using modern cloud-native technologies.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
