About the Client

A major Brazilian financial institution specializing in investment banking, wealth management, and corporate lending. The customer develops secure digital banking platforms and financial solutions to serve a diverse global client base.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and enhance backend applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Quarkus.
• Build cloud-native, event-driven solutions leveraging AWS services.
• Design and implement distributed architectures using: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
• Implement observability best practices, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Participate in software architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Drive code quality, engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor and developer copilots, to improve productivity and software quality.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams using Agile methodologies.

What You Bring

• Proven mid-to-senior level backend experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Hands-on experience developing applications with Spring Boot and Quarkus.
• Strong experience with AWS, including: Amazon SQS, Amazon SNS, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon API Gateway
• Experience designing and developing microservices.
• Strong understanding of distributed and event-driven architectures.
• Experience implementing observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments.
• Experience using AI-powered software development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar developer assistants.

Nice to have

• Experience with reactive programming using Mutiny or Project Reactor.
• Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or financial services.
• Familiarity with the Nasdaq Calypso platform.
• Experience optimizing highly scalable, mission-critical backend systems.
