A hedge fund analyst covering therapeutics has to watch hundreds of companies at once: press releases, SEC filings, management calls, updates on government websites, clinical data publications, and more. Obi9 ingests all of it and surfaces what matters.

Hedge funds pay for it today. We are still early and the team is small, which means you would own entire surfaces of the product rather than pick up tickets.

What you would do

• Ship full-stack features end to end, from the data model to the interface.
• Build the ingestion and enrichment pipelines that turn raw data into rich insights and alerts.
• Work on AI-backed features: from ideation, to serving them on webapp and MCP.
• Make heavy data legible: dense tables, financial charts, document viewers, and a live alert stream.
• Mentor other team members on SWE best practices, from code review to testing and release discipline.

The edge we are looking for

Beyond full-stack ability, we want someone who already understands one of these worlds.

One is enough

we are not asking for all four.

• Financial information systems. You have built on or worked deeply with Bloomberg, FactSet, AlphaSense, S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Visible Alpha, PitchBook, or similar. You know what entity resolution, identifier mapping, and point-in-time data actually cost to get right.
• Financial domain knowledge in healthcare. Equity research, buy-side or sell-side, valuation work, or time spent living inside filings and models, ideally covering the healthcare space.
• Audio and transcription. You have worked on speech-to-text systems: Otter.ai, Rev, AssemblyAI, Deepgram, Whisper. Diarization, speaker attribution, alignment, and turning messy earnings-call audio into something searchable and quotable.
• AI-intensive products. You have built somewhere the pipeline IS the product: legal AI, document intelligence, medical coding, or similar. You know what it costs to make model output dependable at volume: evals and regression sets, grounding and citation, extraction schemas that hold.

• Clear communication. You keep people posted without being chased and are comfortable asking.

Minimum requirements

• English as a first language, or proficient working knowledge.
• 5+ years building production web applications with well rounded depth.
• A technical degree: CS, engineering, mathematics, or physics.
• Mastery of state-of-the-art AI tooling.
• DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience (we use AWS).
• Able to cover at least eight continuous hours within the 8:30am to 5:00pm ET window.
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously and deliver results without close supervision.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, context-switching, and intensity.

Nice to have

• Biotech or life-sciences exposure, and familiarity with clinical trial data.
• Real-time streaming systems.
• Experience in end-to-end QA automation.
• Mandarin, written or spoken.
