Design, build, and implement software solutions to optimize and scale the Instacart platform
Develop highly scalable software using innovative computer science and software engineering principles
Ensure proper protocols are in place to rapidly roll out upgrades and new features
Analyze and optimize expensive SQL queries
Enable sophisticated, data-driven features that adapt to customer shopping behavior
Lead strategic planning and execution of development projects, from inception to deployment and maintenance
Implement high quality solutions to create engaging and straightforward shopping experiences
Focus on everything from the user interface to the underlying systems supporting web and mobile platforms
Execute ongoing testing and analysis of current systems, including independent performance analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting
Determine design solutions to problematic programming

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent)
5 years of experience in the job offered or related
5 years of experience working with Java, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages
5 years of experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems
5 years of experience working with API query technologies, such as GraphQL
2 years of experience working with machine learning model development and iteration
2 years of experience working with client/server architectures and application architectures
2 years of experience working with large codebases on cross-functional teams
