BI / Data Analyst (Discovery)

Fully Remote

Front-loaded

scopes each service line, maps sources, defines the metric logic engineers will build. We are NOT looking for data analysts who need direction. We need individuals who have spearheaded similar projects in the past.

PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS (Supplier to ask Talent and include in future submissions)

• Have you personally facilitated requirements or discovery sessions with business stakeholders - as the facilitator, not the note-taker? Roughly how many, and how senior were the people in the room?
• Who set the agenda for those sessions?
• Have you written specs or source-to-target mapping documents that engineers built from? Name the most recent one.
• Snowflake or Databricks (or other SQL tools) - which have you queried, and how recently?

Must-have(s)

• 6+ years with 3+ leading business-facing delivery, but is still hands-on
• Strong SQL — data profiling, analysis, validation/reconciliation (tie-outs)
• Requirements elicitation & documentation — turning business questions into clear specs / source-of-truth docs
• Metric / KPI logic design — defining core metric definitions (e.g., inventory, worked/inflowed volume, client value) for a semantic/metrics layer
• Source-to-target data mapping and data-dictionary / golden-record concepts
• Comfortable querying in Snowflake and/or Databricks
• Stakeholder engagement (kick-offs, working sessions)

Nice-to-have

• Healthcare revenue-cycle (RCM) domain — denials & AR, underpayments, coding/assurance, patient pay / insurance discovery
• Experience with semantic layers / metrics layers and BI dashboards
• Exposure to AI-assisted analytics (Snowflake Cortex)

Key deliverables

domain discovery, source→serviceline mapping, requirements + metric-logic definitions (pseudo-mart specs), output validation.
