Responsibilities
- Be the key technical storyteller for senior technical executive audiences
- Drive approach and execution of first-party technical event content programs (DASH, Datadog Summits)
- Define and drive executive-level advocacy programs for technical audiences
- Represent Datadog's point-of-view at events and conferences
- Partner with and coach internal product and engineering leaders on public communication
- Represent Datadog leadership's point-of-view on solutions, engineering culture, and industry trends
- Partner with event organizers to ensure success and content curation
- Create content in one or more mediums to build Datadog's reputation in DevOps, Observability, and Security
- Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancements)
Requirements
- Approximately 5+ years as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner
- Approximately 8+ years in a senior technical leadership capacity (Principal Engineer, VP/Director+, Staff Developer Advocate)
- Approximately 3+ years in storytelling and creating compelling content (written, conference talks, workshops, live streaming, open source)
- Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics
- Coached and enabled others to speak publicly and deliver compelling talks, especially to technical executives
- Experience working on technical conferences or events, as collaborator or organizer
