Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer with strong IBM Mainframe expertise to undertake complex system design, development, and functional design activities.

The role involves translating business and operational requirements into effective technical solutions, supervising development activities, and ensuring application designs comply with architectural and enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex software applications with a high degree of autonomy.
• Translate business requirements and operational constraints into functional and data models.
• Ensure application designs meet business, operational, and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with Application and Enterprise Architects to validate proposed solutions.
• Define system scope, objectives, and detailed technical designs.
• Review program specifications, documentation, coding, testing, and debugging activities.
• Contribute to application design standards, reusable patterns, frameworks, and tools.
• Support application testing and production problem resolution when required.
• Coach and guide junior IT professionals.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders throughout projects and maintenance activities.
• Maintain high-quality design documentation throughout the application lifecycle.
• Work with IT Infrastructure teams to provide clear technical and physical architecture information.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience as a developer and functional designer.
• Deep expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies.
• Strong knowledge of:
• PLI
• DB2
• MQ
• CICS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to navigate complex systems and technical environments.
• Solution-oriented and proactive mindset.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improving software delivery efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience working on major IT projects.
