Empower is seeking senior engineers with 7+ years of development experience to join our growing team.

Candidates must have a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science (or related field), an exceptional work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a desire to be part of a team disrupting the status quo.

**What technologies you will be using at Empower**

• C#, ASP.NET Core 8, SQL, Azure, CosmosDB, Redis
• Vue.js, TypeScript/JavaScript

**What you will do at Empower**

• 80% - Design, develop, and maintain new features in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering and other engineers
• 20% - Create reports, analyze data, and suggest improvements for business and technical needs
• Complete tasks under tight deadlines
• Lead less experienced developers
• Help improve the platform in performance, reliability, and maintainability
• In rare occasions, handle emergency situations during off-hours

**Required Qualifications**

• 7+ years of development experience
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science _(or relevant field)_
• Proficiency with one of C#, Java, Javascript, Python, etc…
• Proficiency with a NoSQL or SQL database
• Experience building and consuming REST or RESTful APIs
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Track record developing highly scalable, secure, production-grade backend services

**Preferred Qualifications**

• Highly proficient with either CosmosDB, SQL, or PostgreSQL
• Highly Proficient with C# and/or [Asp.NET](http://Asp.NET) Core
• Experience developing geolocation based applications and services
• Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with Vue 2 / 3
• Experience with Microsoft Orleans
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with PostGIS
• Experience working on a DevOps team, using Git, or building automation for CI/CD
• Experience with distributed and structured logging
• Experience at a rideshare or on-demand delivery service or building two-sided online marketplace apps
• Experience leading a small team of engineers
