What You'll Do

A successful UI Engineer will join a collaborative Agile/Scrum team focused on delivering intuitive, responsive, and accessible user experiences across First Advantage's global technology platforms. Working closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, software engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders, this role will build and enhance modern user interfaces that support both customer and business needs while ensuring quality, performance, and scalability

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
• Translate UX/UI designs, wireframes, and prototypes into high-quality front-end code.
• Partner with product managers, designers, back-end developers, and QA teams to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences.
• Build reusable components and front-end patterns that support consistency, scalability, and efficient development.
• Optimize applications for performance, usability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to front-end development standards, best practices, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve UI defects and production issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate front-end components with APIs and back-end services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design systems, component libraries, and development processes.
• Stay current with emerging UI technologies, frameworks, accessibility standards, and engineering practices.
• Work within a Scrum team to develop and continuously improve user-facing features and functionality.
• Develop UI components and application screens based on documented business, functional, and design requirements.
• Collaborate with UX designers and back-end engineers to translate mockups and prototypes into responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces.
• Provide effort estimates and technical input during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and solution discussions.
• Contribute to and maintain shared component libraries and design systems that promote consistency across applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, tested code and actively participate in peer code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.

What You Will Need to be Successful

• Approximately 3+ years of professional software development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong experience building responsive, accessible user interfaces using Angular.
• Experience developing applications that comply with accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines.
• Experience optimizing web applications for performance, mobile responsiveness, and variable network conditions.
• Experience with Nx, RxJS, and NgRx/Store for state management and scalable front-end architecture.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS layout techniques, including Flexbox.
• Experience writing unit tests using Jest and contributing to high-quality software delivery practices.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of front-end security principles and secure coding practices.
• Ability to write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within global distributed teams.

What You May Need to be Successful

• Hands-on experience building reusable web components using Lit, or a demonstrated willingness to learn.
• Working knowledge of React to support and maintain existing applications.
• Experience with Storybook, Figma, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar collaboration and development tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum product development environments.
• Familiarity with SaaS platforms and cloud-native application architectures.
• Exposure to HR technology, identity, verification, screening, or other highly regulated software environments.
