Forward Deployed Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to help drive AI-powered solutions for a cutting-edge technology organization. The Forward Deployed Engineer role is ideal for an engineer who excels at working directly with customers to architect, implement, and optimize AI applications, with a strong focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), data connectivity, and enterprise-scale integrations.

Responsibilities of the Forward Deployed Engineer

• Partner directly with customers to understand business challenges and design AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable value.
• Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI applications.
• Design and develop data connectivity solutions that integrate structured and unstructured enterprise data sources into AI platforms.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and adoption of AI solutions.
• Build proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready implementations tailored to customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations for performance, scalability, and security improvements.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications of the Forward Deployed Engineer

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, machine learning engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data connectivity, APIs, databases, and integration technologies.
• Experience working with modern AI/LLM platforms and related development frameworks.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Experience working in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.

Compensation for the Forward Deployed Engineer includes

Salary

$225,000 - $230,000/Annually
