About the job M08 - Software Developer (PowerBuilder - Sybase Migration Specialist)

You will play a key role in supporting database migration activities by analysing, modifying, and optimising PowerBuilder applications and Sybase database components to ensure a smooth and reliable transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Support database migration activities, including PowerBuilder code analysis and modification
• Enhance and optimise Sybase stored procedures and database logic
• Ensure data integrity and system compatibility during migration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate migration outcomes
• Participate in system testing, validation, and deployment activities
• Identify and resolve issues arising from migration changes
• Develop, test, and deploy software following SDLC and secure coding best practices
• Manage code using version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Perform unit testing and integration testing
• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and production issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Business Analysts)
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
• Maintain accurate technical documentation
• Monitor and optimise system performance
• Implement security best practices

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PowerBuilder development
• Experience in database migration and legacy system modernisation
• Strong knowledge of Sybase database architecture and stored procedures
• Ability to analyse, refactor, and optimise legacy code
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
