Production Reliability Engineer - Globally Leading Prop Trading Firm (HK)

Job Description

Our client is a globally leading proprietary trading firm where milliseconds of downtime can move real P&L. They're hiring a Production Reliability Engineer in Hong Kong to keep that platform, and everything feeding into it, steady: closing blind spots long before they turn into incidents, and stepping in to run the room the moment one does.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲

• 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: Time in SRE, NOC, trading ops or another first-line role. Bonus points for financial services.
• 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: You've run major incidents before and can hold a room, seniority in it or not.
• 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲: Sharp triage instincts, plain-spoken updates a trader and an engineer both understand.
• 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Comfortable across Linux, networking, and the usual observability stack: PagerDuty, Grafana, Prometheus.
• 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Python (Bash/Go welcome), aimed at automating triage, not shipping product.
• 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲: Kubernetes, Docker or GCP exposure.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂

• 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: You're Incident Commander, full stop, deciding who's on the call and how it runs, regardless of who else is in the room.
• 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲: Join a firm with a long, proven track record at the top of the trading world, not a startup still finding its footing.
• 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀: Work shoulder to shoulder with some of the sharpest traders and engineers in the industry.
• 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Standing to push traders, engineers and infra teams alike when standards slip.
• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: Every gap you close makes the next incident smaller, and it's your name on the fix.
