Responsibilities

  • Lead an agile team of developers and test automation engineers
  • Grow team members into a high-performance team
  • Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, and enhance products
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies during development lifecycle
  • Ensure quality of the product delivered and team performance
  • Provide technical direction and mentor teams
  • Incorporate efficient workflows, frameworks, templates, design and code best practices
  • Produce reusable and maintainable code
  • Implement Agile and DevSecOps best practices
  • Deliver quality products predictably and consistently
  • Evaluate functional/business and technical requirements
  • Identify gaps and risks
  • Review proposed new feature development for feasibility
  • Estimate development work
  • Craft detailed application design with a focus on standards, performance, flexibility, scalability and security
  • Support the implementation of the solution
  • Validate proposed technical architectures and solutions
  • Monitor and analyze product performance in production
  • Optimize and scale existing solutions
  • Evaluate product and process metrics
  • Implement process improvements
  • Reinforce strategies, standards, and architecture consistency across product teams
  • Engage in communities of practice
  • Keep abreast of emerging tools and technologies
  • Make recommendations for platform and technologies
  • Recommend improvement areas to senior management
  • Help application developers adopt new platforms through documentation, training, and mentoring
  • Demonstrate product demos to users and stakeholders
  • Collect feedback and implement improvements
  • Assist in technical troubleshooting
  • Peer review team members' work products

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 10+ years of full-lifecycle application development experience
  • At least 3 years of experience using the listed technologies and AWS cloud platform
  • Experience in architecting and designing solutions
  • Experience decomposing solutions into modules for development
  • 5+ years of experience using Agile, DevSecOps, Test driven development and other lean methodologies
  • Implementation experience on using Agile project management tools (JIRA)
  • Implementation experience on using CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing and deployment
  • Experience developing cloud native solutions according to industry best practices
  • Extensive hands-on experience in JavaScript (React.js, Node.js, modern JavaScript libraries - ES6 - 2015 and later versions)
  • Extensive hands-on experience in API development (GraphQL/RESTful)
  • Extensive hands-on experience in messaging (Kafka, AWS kinesis or others)
  • Extensive hands-on experience in serverless application development using AWS Lambda
  • Extensive hands-on experience in SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Extensive hands-on experience in AWS services (Lambda, S3, Dynamo, Kinesis, RDS, Redshift and several others)
  • Strong experience in database queries
  • Experience working preferably with MySQL
  • Good understanding of AI models, Agentic development and RAG concepts
  • Experience in using AI tools, e.g., Copilot, AWS Bedrock, etc., to generate code for development and automation testing
  • Experience in establishing source code management best practices (branching, repository structure, peer review process, documentation)
  • Experience in establishing release management processes and standards
  • Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present and comprehend technical details clearly
  • Ability to mentor junior resources
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued clearance is required

Preferred

  • Experience in a government contracting environment with DoD and non-DoD customers
