Contractor Fee: $2,500-$3,000/month (USD)

About This Role

We’re hiring an experienced Data Analyst (SQL-Focused) who can dive deep into raw datasets, transform them into actionable insights, and support critical business decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in SQL development, data analysis, and reporting. You’ll collaborate with various teams to understand data needs, design efficient queries, build reports, and maintain clean and secure data pipelines in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries for reporting and analysis
• Analyze large datasets to surface trends, anomalies, and actionable insights
• Support ETL processes and contribute to maintaining clean, validated data flows
• Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports for business teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality or performance issues
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand reporting requirements
• Document data structures, definitions, and processes clearly
• Uphold data privacy, accuracy, and compliance best practices
• Stay current with evolving analytics tools and methodologies

Software/Platforms/Tools

• PostgreSQL and SQL (advanced proficiency)
• Looker (preferred), Tableau, or Power BI (a plus)
• ETL tools and pipelines
• MS Excel
• Shopify
• Git or version control systems
• Slack
• Zoom
• Google Workspace
• Project Management: Monday.com or similar

Qualifications

• At least 35 years of freelance or remote experience in a data-driven role
• Proven expertise in SQL development and data analysis
• Experience working with large datasets and performance optimization
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal English
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
• Familiarity with e-commerce, marketing, or SaaS data is a plus
• Experience building dashboards or automated reports is preferred

Shift Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM US PST
