The Go-to-Market (GTM) team plays a pivotal role in supporting the development and control environment for digital products across Amex Digital Labs. They lead go-to-market implementation and product operations by working closely with the Product Development and Product Partnerships teams within Digital Labs and operate as a critical advocate across cross-functional stakeholders for customer experience and risk mitigation by driving uplifts to our governance processes.
The successful Director candidate will lead a high-performance team focused on Amex’s journey through the Web3 space, expertly balancing net-new control design while driving speed to market across stablecoin and blockchain use-cases. The candidate will collaborate extensively with the Digital Labs Product and Product Partnerships team, as well as a broad range of internal stakeholders including Strategic Partnerships, Enterprise Strategy, Merchant, Network, and more. In addition to Web3 product launches and pilots, the candidate will work with key stakeholders across the enterprise to bolster existing frameworks and processes (ex. AEMP10 & 54) to accurately manage and evaluate Web3-specific risks.
Guide the go-to-market implementation and product operations for new initiatives including:
- Lead end-to-end internal management for the global launches of new digital payment and membership products, specifically in the Web3 space.
- Serve as project manager across Amex Digital Labs teams and other key relevant partners (e.g., Operational Excellence / Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, Privacy Marketing, Merchant, Network, and Servicing) to guide product through appropriate Amex reviews & approvals.
- Influence cross-functional teams to ensure business alignment, requirements, and resourcing levels are optimal throughout plan
- Develop project trackers/overview decks, maintain ongoing project update meetings, and regularly communicate with partners regarding product strategy, value proposition, and project updates
- Proactively anticipate risks/issues and ensure appropriate mitigation planning is in place to avoid compromising delivery
- Improve processes, develop toolkits/resources, and reengineer activities across the team to help increase agility and speed to market for Web3-specific products
- Communicate with key stakeholders with regard to program strategy and direction, process uplifts, and policy changes
- Lead and develop high-performing team

- Outstanding program management skills to lead end-to-end partnerships across several key verticals simultaneously – product development, engineering & technology, marketing, operational excellence, servicing, legal, compliance, information security, etc.
- Self-starter that can excel in a dynamic environment by driving decision-making, working well under pressure, and adapting to frequent change
- Excellent relationship-building with partners and across internal stakeholders
- Possess intellectual curiosity about the evolving digital, mobile, and alternatives payments space and innovative membership experiences
- Prior experience in articulating product functionality and demonstrating technical acumen a plus
- Experience with Amex Enterprise Risk Policy implementation a plus
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or PMO certification a plus
