Data architect (GC-USC)

Description

Qualifications

Strong experience in architecture and designing custom as well product based implementations in Java/J2EE/Unix environment

Thorough understanding of Object Oriented analysis and design methodology

Familiarity with UI development platform and tools (e.g. Javascript, Angular JS, etc.)

Full life cycle experience on large projects, creating and implementing new products in Java/J2EE/Unix environment

Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (e.g. REST, SOAP, XML-RPC etc.)

Experience with relational/databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB etc)

Gathering and evaluating the client's business requirements, both functional and non-functional

Good working knowledge of waterfall & Agile development environment

Good working knowledge in Big Data and related technologies

Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot

Experience in a variety of relevant technologies including Cassandra, Flink, Kafka, Java, Spring Boot, Postgres, SQL databases, NoSQL databases, Elastic Search, Machine Learning, Docker, Microservices architecture, and JavaScript

Responsibilities

Identify critical design factors, including extensibility, manageability, scalability, and availability

Consider security, networking, and existing client environments

Document current and desired state processes and infrastructure

Recommend business process optimization as dictated by the requirements

Consider impacts of the existing processes and infrastructure of possible design
