Responsibilities
- Lead deployment and operationalization of SaaS products
- Own end-to-end infrastructure delivery
- Elevate DevOps practices
- Collaborate with Software and Product teams
- Shape platform engineering strategy
- Set technical direction for distributed systems
- Influence design patterns for AI workloads
- Use AI tooling for IaC, pipelines, incident response
- Shape agentic operations patterns
- Architect, implement, and run secure, scalable, multi-tenant infrastructure
- Use AI coding and agentic tools for IaC authoring, pipeline development, log/trace analysis, postmortem drafting, and toil reduction
- Build and improve agentic workflows
- Build and harden CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment delivery
- Establish SLOs and instrument systems for observability
- Drive incident response and postmortems
- Integrate supply-chain security and baseline hardening
- Optimize infrastructure spend and performance
- Lead design reviews and author RFCs
- Mentor engineers and raise quality bar
- Support IL-4/IL-5-aligned patterns and RMF documentation
- Define platform roadmaps and establish deployment patterns
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating cloud platforms
- 3+ years deploying SaaS in production
- Strong with Terraform
- Strong with Helm/Kustomize
- Strong with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deep AWS experience
- CI/CD expertise (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Argo Workflows)
- GitOps expertise (Argo CD or Flux)
- Observability across metrics, logs, and traces (Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK)
- Proven track record in IaC
- Proven track record in scalable system design
- Proven track record in quality tooling (automated tests, canaries/blue-green, feature flags)
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable partnering with Product, Security, and Customer teams
- Ownership, autonomy, and pragmatic delivery in a startup environment
- Active, fluent use of AI development/operations tools
- Secret Clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one
Preferred
- Supply-chain security (SBOMs, SLSA concepts, image signing, provenance)
- Vulnerability management (Trivy/Grype, Snyk)
- Chainguard experience
- Experience identifying/mitigating CVEs and setting policy thresholds
- Background with DoD/regulated customers
- Familiarity with IL-4/IL-5, Platform One patterns, and RMF documentation workflows
- Knowledge of STIG/CIS hardening
- Knowledge of air-gapped architectures
- Knowledge of offline update mechanisms
- Experience operating AI/ML workloads in production
- Experience building agentic ops workflows / MCP-based integrations
