Responsibilities

  • Own an integration end to end: design, code, and production system
  • Set technical defaults for a growing team
  • Own the architecture: auth, identity, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance
  • Run what you build: on-call, infrastructure, CI, deployment, observability
  • Work on top of external platforms
  • Partner with internal teams, agree on interfaces
  • Write design docs, RFCs

Requirements

  • 5+ years building software, with a good chunk on data-heavy or integration systems
  • Solid backend and systems instincts
  • Reason about deployment topology, multi-tenancy, data movement
  • Comfortable owning architectural tradeoffs
  • Worked with modern auth protocols, service principals, identity federation
  • Built on someone else's platform
  • Comfortable in ambiguity
  • Ship before the spec is finished
  • Make sensible calls under uncertainty
  • Flag decisions that'll be hard to undo
  • Good with other engineers
  • Mainly a backend engineer
  • Comfortable enough in JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Use AI tools well and honestly
  • Write well

Preferred

  • Familiarity with a major cloud data or analytics platform ecosystem
  • Real depth in auth and identity federation
  • Experience shipping through a partner marketplace or certification process
  • Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms
  • Working knowledge of ClickHouse, or another columnar / OLAP engine
