Shape how AI transforms learning for millions of students.
Pearson is the world's lifelong learning company. In UK Schools Qualifications we're building AI-enabled products that genuinely support teachers and learners, grounded in real pedagogy, evidence and responsible practice. We're now creating a new senior expert role to lead the thinking behind that work, and to make sure our AI ambitions land where it matters most: with our partners in schools and colleges.
About the role
This is a senior, expert-track role for someone who understands AI, pedagogy, curriculum and product. You won't manage a team, instead you'll lead through influence, credibility and deep expertise, turning ambition into action and connecting people while seeking out the latest evidence of tangible delivery.
You'll be a key person linking together our activity on what "good" looks like for AI in teaching, learning and assessment, and you'll help the wider team move faster and more confidently.
You'll extend our expert capacity rather than owning overall product direction, leaving you free to focus on the ideas, evidence and partnerships that create genuine impact.
What you'll do
- Turn AI product ambition into actions, options papers, and evidence-led recommendations.
- Build and strengthen links with schools, colleges and multi-academy trusts to understand how AI is really being implemented, and connect with academics, sector bodies, policy stakeholders and organisations shaping the space.
- Support or lead product and pedagogical delivery for priority initiatives, across curriculum/teaching and learning, assessment and digital.
- Create reusable frameworks, playbooks and guidance for responsible, AI-enabled product development that teams adopt.
- Champion responsible AI, drawing on the global Pearson approach to factors include safeguarding, learner trust, accessibility and teacher workflows at the heart of everything.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrable expertise in applying AI to learning and/or products, spanning pedagogy/teaching and learning, curriculum and/or product strategy.
- A track record of leading complex, ambiguous initiatives to delivery through influence rather than line authority.
- The credibility to shape senior decisions with evidence, and to build trusted external networks.
- Exceptional systems thinking and the ability to work horizontally across teams and disciplines.
- Ideally, experience in EdTech, assessment or regulated/evidence-based environments, and delivering initiatives with partners.
