Responsibilities

Design and develop complex software solutions
Lead technical initiatives
Leverage AI/ML capabilities to shorten development time
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance products and platforms
Analysis, design, coding, component, and assembly testing of system and component software tools and applications
Maintenance (including production support), enhancement, and development work
Write well-designed, testable, efficient code
Deliver designs that follow the backlog and user specifications
Deliver releases of tested software components on time and of high quality
Investigate technical alternatives and new technologies
Reduce or eliminate staff dependency on manual review of business process documentation by creating automated and guided workflows
Utilize AI technologies to increase efficiency in code delivery and releases
Explore the creation of an agentic-AI code development solution
Partners with other business and technical personnel to resolve problems
Evaluate, utilize, and lead the use of AI/ML capabilities
Collaborate with product, QA, and data teams to define requirements
Develop new business processes and programming solutions
Utilizes in-depth modeling, design, and coding skills
Design applications to functional and technical programming standards
Gather and interpret user requirements into design specifications
Develop system specifications and interfaces
Determine time estimates and schedule for work
Code new features/functionality, as well as software enhancements and/or required fixes
Participate in or conduct structured code reviews/walkthroughs
Design and support testing of code prior to deployment
Provide On-Call support as needed

Requirements

Java / J2EE application development, including front-end, back-end, and middle-tier components
Experience with multiple design patterns
Experience with third-party middleware tools incorporated into application design
Webservices creation, consumption, and implementation
Extensive knowledge of web and application servers
Coding experience with Spring modules
web application development with Struts modules
Web Services experience, top-down and bottom-up implementation with JAXWS
Oracle SQL experience
Application Server experience, JBOSS, Deployment Management, etc.
scripting experience (with Shell, Groovy, etc.)
Solid working knowledge of Linux O/S and Shell scripting
Operational understanding of browser-based application infrastructure running in a clustered hardware environment
Working knowledge of a modern welfare eligibility case management system, preferably with hands-on experience with Idaho's Medicaid Eligibility auto
5+ years of J2EE application development
3+ years of experience with multiple design patterns
3+ years of experience with third-party middleware tools
3+ years of webservices creation, consumption, and implementation
5+ years of extensive knowledge of web and application servers
2+ years of coding experience with Spring modules
2+ years of web application development with Struts modules
2+ years of Web Services experience, top-down and bottom-up implementation with JAXWS
2+ years of Oracle SQL experience
