About the role

  • We are seeking SDK Software Engineers to build the host-side SDK, APIs, and tools that let customers integrate Lyte’s perception hardware into their products. You will shape the developer experience for everyone who builds on Lyte.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop the host-platform SDK and APIs (C/C++ and Python) for Lyte’s sensing products
  • Build host drivers, data streaming, and device configuration/control interfaces
  • Develop sample applications, reference integrations, and developer documentation
  • Ensure cross-platform support (Linux, Windows) and clean, stable API design
  • Optimize host-side data pipelines for throughput and latency
  • Work with firmware and perception teams to expose device capabilities
  • Support customer integration and debug SDK issues

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years developing SDKs, libraries, or systems software in C/C++ (and Python)
  • Strong API design and cross-platform development skills
  • Experience with device communication (USB, PCIe, Ethernet) and data streaming
  • Solid understanding of memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization
  • Excellent documentation and developer-experience mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience shipping SDKs used by external developers
  • Sensor, camera, or LiDAR data-pipeline experience
  • Python bindings (pybind11) or packaging experience
  • ROS / ROS 2 integration
  • CUDA expertise
  • Robotics or autonomous systems background
