Responsibilities

  • Support and help complete the migration of legacy MS SQL scripts/processes into Databricks
  • Build and maintain dbt models as part of the new Databricks-based data architecture
  • Support Data List pulls for audience segmentation during year-end peak volume
  • Partner with the existing team of 2 data engineers already embedded in the migration
  • Review and validate migrated processes/scripts in collaboration with vendors
  • Help lay the groundwork for a new segmentation tool (currently in procurement/early implementation)
  • Work with data that maps customer/donor journeys — email, SMS, direct mail, and call outreach — to support full 360-degree audience views

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of hands-on data engineering experience
  • Recent experience in the nonprofit industry
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, and dbt
  • Experience migrating data warehouses (e.g., legacy SQL environments into Databricks or similar) strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working within an existing architecture and picking up work already in progress alongside other engineers

Preferred

  • Prior experience in nonprofit (NFP) organizations, particularly supporting audience management, donor journeys, or fundraising data
  • If no direct NFP background, experience supporting customer/donor journey data
  • AI-related certifications or experience a plus (e.g., Databricks Genie)
