What You’ll Do
As our Service Line Strategy Intern, you’ll contribute to MISO’s Operations and Planning strategy by researching emerging industry trends and translating them into strategic insights and recommendations to help leaders prepare MISO for the future of the electric grid.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with
- Researching emerging industry trends and assessing what they could mean for MISO’s future capabilities
- Helping translate insights into multi-year priorities and leadership-ready recommendations
- Developing or improving strategic roadmaps, dashboards, and planning views using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and MISO’s strategic planning tools

Degree
Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another related analytical or strategy-focused degree
Required Technical Skills
- Power BI, the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills
- AI/LLM experience
- Experience in areas such as power systems, energy markets, economics, strategic planning, data analysis, statistics, or business analytics
- Research projects, case studies, or internships analyzing complex information, identifying trends, developing recommendations, and communicating findings clearly — prior energy-industry exposure is a plus, not a requirement
