Howmet Aerospace is currently in search of a Manager, IT Human Capital Manager Applications, to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit at the Howmet Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
The position will report to the Sr. IT Corporate Applications Manager and be responsible for providing leadership to the team that supports enterprise HR solutions (Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management), Time and Attendance, 3rd party payroll systems, and other corporate functions application interfaces. This role is expected to provide ongoing guidance to customers to help drive increased effectiveness, efficiency, and capability within each business application area. It requires technical managerial expertise with strong leadership, an agile mindset, and a focus on security, compliance, and data driven insights to deliver modern, scalable human capital enterprise integrated solutions.
Major Activities / Key Challenges
- Leverages extensive understanding of business applications, processes, technology, and the organization to build work groups to solve problems and create solutions
- Provides HCM technology advice and counsel with respect to the applications, systems, or technologies in area of responsibility. Maintains an awareness of current technologies, future directions, and industry trends.
- Leads, manages, and engages teams. Acts as an escalation point and removes barriers preventing progress or expected outcome(s). Ensures consistency and leverages commonality among other areas within the IT department.
- Develops and manages the operating budget approved for delivery and support activities. Provides approval for project budgets. Contributes to the request for appropriations (RFA) life cycle as needed.
- Fosters collaborative relationships within and between organizations, teams, customers, suppliers, and peers to identify and provide business solutions that effectively and efficiently satisfy the data processing, information needs, and business process requirements.
- Develops support models and initiates actions to maximize the benefits of those support models (e.g. Support through 3rd parties).
- Pursues benchmarking opportunities with industry peers and leaders to facilitate critical process improvements. Lead teams to identify potential problem areas and implement solutions.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communications skills. Communicates and explains complex issues in an understandable way to the business and to the leadership of the organization.
- Operates in, complies with, and leads in the development of Howmet standards and controls (e.g. audit self-assessment). Understanding of ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2; configuring Oracle Identity Management
- Pursues continuous learning consistent with the movement in the job requirements, changes in technology, changes in the organization, and changes in the company. Heightens the awareness and drives the adoption of new and creative learnings that can be applied within the organization.
- Jointly develops plans and partners with vendors to ensure Howmet requirements are included in their company’s strategies. Works with central procurement to help develop commercial strategy.
- Conducts coaching, counseling, and performs or provides input into Howmet's Talent Management process. Conducts and/or recommends learning & development opportunities for others.
- Participates in and provides feedback for the consensus process. Identifies & builds an organizational structure which optimizes resources & customer service. Drives the role fill & selection process.
- Sponsors and leads the discovery, planning, and implementation of process improvements at an individual, team, departmental, cross functional and/or global level.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of business processes and purposes. Leads the analysis of the customer processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Works with CIO Lead Team and Business Segment IT Leaders, to ensure that programs are developed and aligned to agreed upon strategies.
- Works as part of or manage a geographically dispersed team using a variety of technologies. Acknowledges and accommodates, where appropriate, any variance in time zones and native language.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Information Technology
- Minimum 5 year’s project management experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Cloud HCM solutions; Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management a plus,. AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) fundamentals for hybrid deployments
- Define coding standards, change‑management processes, and security controls for the HCM platform.
- Work closely with ORACLE support and AMS providers to monitor system health, tune batch jobs, and recommend hardware or cloud scaling. Liaise with Oracle support, third‑party integrators, and cloud service providers.
- Oversee master data governance, data migration, and data quality initiatives.
- Provide technical solutioning expertise and exercise consultative role in the design of end‑to‑end HCM integrations (e.g., payroll, talent, workforce) that meet business goals.
- Familiarity with Time and Attendance processes and supporting tools and applications, Assist and facilitate translation of business strategy into technical roadmaps; evaluate new Oracle HCM releases and add‑ons.
- Broad range of knowledge across Human Resource business processes (Employee records, Time tracking, Learning Management, Compensation, Payroll, etc.)
- Basic understanding of website construction and design, web development toolsets and underlying technical stack
- Proven track record of managing a team consisting of employees and contractors (onshore and offshore support model)
- Experienced with vendor management specific to software and service providers (e.g. support & implementation)
- Knowledge of Oracle DBMS, Linux, SQL Server, .net, web applications, HTML, XML, CSS, Content Management system
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer partnership
- Knowledge of governance and change management procedures in an IT environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse customer base effectively is a necessity

Salary range
$120k – 140k/year approximation (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
