ETL Tester | Bangalore, India | JPMC

Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented ETL Tester to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, hands-on experience with ETL testing, and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts. You will work closely with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ETL test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from source systems to target data warehouses.
• Perform source-to-target data validation using SQL queries.
• Verify business transformation rules and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Conduct data completeness, data integrity, and reconciliation testing.
• Identify, analyze, and report data discrepancies, defects, and inconsistencies.
• Perform regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for ETL processes.
• Validate scheduled ETL jobs and monitor batch processing results.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and ETL Developers to resolve data quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and quality standards.
• Prepare test documentation, defect reports, and test execution summaries.
• Participate in requirement analysis and provide feedback on testability and data quality.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis.
• Hands-on experience in ETL Testing and data validation.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Experience with ETL tools such as:

• Talend
• Microsoft SSIS
• IBM DataStage

• Ab Initio
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift.
• Basic knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for test automation.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
