A Day in the Life

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and J2EE technologies.
• Build and enhance application functionality using frameworks such as Spring, Struts, Hibernate, JSF, and React.
• Develop new features and modernize existing software products based on evolving business and technical requirements.
• Translate client requirements and solution designs into reliable, maintainable technical implementations.
• Design, code, test, and troubleshoot business applications across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
• Actively use AI tools, including Claude through our Anthropic partnership, to streamline tasks, improve the quality of your work, and share best practices with teammates while continuously seeking new ways to integrate AI into your everyday workflows
• Develop and integrate APIs, services, databases, and third-party systems to support end-to-end application functionality.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that follows established development standards and architectural guidelines.
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, quality assurance professionals, and fellow developers to deliver complete technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to shared engineering best practices.
• Investigate complex application issues and implement solutions that improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.

What it takes

• Consultative approach and problem solving skills to successfully align digital solutions with long-term business goals of the client
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance daily work, or a strong desire to do so, including a willingness to experiment, learn, and champion AI adoption within your role
• Claude Certified Developer or Architect highly preferred; possible opportunity to obtain as a Sparq colleague
• Commitment to understanding and exceeding client expectations
• Ability to perform project oversight and execution of deliverables
• Flexibility to adapt within a high-growth organization
• Ability to lead, mentor and motivate those around them
