Senior Software Developer

The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AnaVation provides innovative software and systems engineering solutions for federal intelligence and law-enforcement missions. The Senior Software Developer will design, build, and maintain secure enterprise applications supporting investigative workflows, while leading development activities, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with federal security standards. The role also supports cloud deployments, DevSecOps pipelines, system performance, and mission-critical operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop secure enterprise applications supporting investigative workflows
• Implement audit logging, privileged-access controls, and other federal security requirements
• Ensure software maintainability, reliability, and compliance with secure-development standards
• Lead development activities and provide technical guidance to junior team members
• Diagnose complex issues and optimize system performance
• Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and code-quality standards
• Support cloud deployments and DevSecOps pipelines

Skills

• At least 5 years of enterprise‑software development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and secure‑coding methodologies
• Experience with government environments requiring audit compliance, CJIS standards, or privileged access controls
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud services and FedRAMP‑aligned platforms
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail
• Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for a Secret clearance
• DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability is required to begin support
• Following EOD approval, candidates will be processed for, and must successfully obtain a Secret clearance
• Security+ or equivalent baseline certification
• AWS or Azure professional certifications
• Agile/Scrum certifications
• Experience with containers, microservices, or distributed systems
• Thrives developing in fast moving, agile environments
• Active DHS EOD suitability
• Active DHS Secret or above clearance
