APAC Head of Prime Services Technology

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on technology leader to head our APAC Prime Broker Services Technology team. This role is responsible for the development, support, and delivery of technology solutions across four lines of business: Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime (Swaps), Outsourced Trading Desk (OTD), and Securities Finance.

As part of the global Prime Broker Services Technology group managed from the US, this position requires close collaboration across time zones while maintaining regional ownership of delivery and production support.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Lead a team of 4-6 engineers responsible for application development and production support across all four APAC Prime Brokerage business lines
• Serve as a hands-on technical contributor - designing solutions, reviewing code, and troubleshooting production issues alongside the team
• Partner with business stakeholders in APAC to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver new functionality
• Coordinate with the US-based global technology leadership on architecture decisions, release planning, and shared platform direction
• Manage production support coverage for APAC hours, ensuring system stability and timely incident resolution
• Mentor and develop team members, balancing workload across new development and support responsibilities
• Drive continuous improvement in development practices, system reliability, and operational efficiency

Qualifications/ Experience

• Well-rounded individual capable of contributing to all aspects of the life cycle of a development project from analysis and design through daily production support
• Significant experience in financial services technology, with direct exposure to prime brokerage, securities finance, or related capital markets domains
• Proven ability to manage and develop small engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on
• Strong proficiency in multiple technologies from: Java, C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and Scripting Languages
• Experience supporting production trading systems with high availability requirements
• Ability to work effectively within a globally distributed technology organization, coordinating across APAC and US time zones
• Strong communication skills - able to translate between business needs and technical solutions
