A key construction of EP&PE will be the evolution of the IT Product Manager, who will partner with Engineering Domains, Business Aligned Service Delivery organization, DevSecOps Domain and our operational support teams to ensure that IT PM&D provides high quality, commercially attractive and timely solutions to support our business strategy.

The Infrastructure Test Engineering Associate is responsible for design, development, and maintenance of automated and/or manual test solutions to validate Infrastructure changes or implementations. Collect requirements and set goals and objectives for performance testing. Identify the desired performance characteristics of the system resources including response time, throughput, and resource utilization. Infrastructure Test Engineering Associate will be part of the Infrastructure testing team within EPPE to provide and support the testing of Infrastructure changes or new implementations done by various engineering teams. The infrastructure requirements will be either to address applications’ infrastructure requirements or internal environments. Identify the software agents, hardware, and network configurations for testing. Provide technical leadership to the performance engineering. Work closely with the development team during performance testing/tuning, and coordinate troubleshooting efforts. Experience with conducting root cause analysis of performance issues and bottlenecks. Evaluate, deploy, operate, and maintain performance monitoring tools. This position requires excellent verbal, written and analytical skills to be able to interact with application development teams, business analysts/SME’s, business users and project managers to understand requirements and communicate status.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be a key technical player in contributing the architecture evolution of Infrastructure Test Automation Frameworks and related capabilities.
  • Define, design, development, documentation and maintenance of tools and Automation Frameworks for current and Infrastructure Validations as part of an Agile team
  • Deliver end to end performance testing for projects independently, using Agile methodologies
  • Perform the Performance Engineering test activities, standard of Operation enhancements. Provide strong leadership and detailed management of change, both on software agents and hardware and demand management. Correlate application release plans with Performance Engineering testing activities, status reporting, prioritize in concert with business needs and priorities.
  • Partners with project stakeholders to ensure effective planning and requirements definition.
  • Active participant in all phases of the project lifecycle. Work with project stakeholders during project definition to help the team understand risks, dependencies, and opportunities; participate in requirements definition and review; lend subject matter expertise to projects.
  • Creates solutions and conduct performance tests to improve availability, performance, reliability, capacity and scalability in the system or database layers.
  • Understands system’s technical architecture, and able to identify the performance implications for different layers of system based on design discussions or architecture documents.
  • Review design documents and code to identify potential performance bottlenecks and defects.
  • Maintains credibility in communication and takes actions on assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer and assist in training of junior team members.
  • Build reusable components to automate repeatable, manual activities.
  • Support performance, resiliency, and recovery validation activities for applications and platforms, including availability, failover, scalability, and recovery testing across cloud, container, and hybrid environments.
  • Participate in resiliency test planning and execution by supporting risk-based test scenarios, recovery validation, observability-driven analysis, and RTO/RPO verification activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to analyze performance and resiliency test results, document findings, and provide traceable test evidence for governance, audit, and operational readiness reviews.

Talents Needed for Success

  • 4+ years of IT experience with proven expertise in performance engineering (analysis, testing, and tuning)
  • Understanding and working experience in developing simulators in multiple languages, such as Java, PL SQL, Python for simulating performance load.
  • Experience with performance diagnostics/monitoring tools such as DynaTrace or AppDynamics
  • Understanding and working experience with JMeter, LoadRunner or custom load generation tools
  • Strong performance analysis skills, including system metrics and thread/heap dump analysis
  • Broad experience with multiple middleware and data store technologies, such as message queues, relational databases, non-relational databases, caches, stream processing, batch processing
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system, especially process/system monitoring and performance measurement
  • Knowledge with AWS cloud services are preferred
  • In-depth knowledge with Java application servers is a huge plus
  • Working experience or knowledge with JVM tuning of heap size and garbage collection is good to have
  • Basic experience with database query optimization and analysis is a plus
  • Familiarity with JMS or MQ
  • Familiarity with log ingestion and analysis tools, such as Splunk
  • Knowledge with CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and source code control/repository is a plus
  • Knowledge in working with Agile development teams
  • Basic knowledge of resiliency engineering concepts, including high availability, disaster recovery, failover validation, RTO/RPO objectives, and observability principles.
  • Understanding resiliency and chaos testing approaches across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Understanding or exposure to resiliency and chaos engineering tools such as Gremlin, stress-ng, AWS Fault Injection Service (AWS FIS), Azure Chaos Studio, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Experience in creating testing strategy and automation design document
