Role summary

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using multiple programming languages and AI/ML integrations. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement focus, and effective cross-functional collaboration to meet user needs and quality standards. Data Ventures leads Walmart’s data transformation by delivering scalable B2B data solutions that provide merchants and suppliers with actionable insights. The team specializes in end-to-end software product development, emphasizing collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Members apply expertise in software development, AI integration, and platform design to build reliable, efficient systems. Focused on innovation, accountability, and clear communication, the team aligns solutions with business goals and enhances user experiences. What you'll do

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, translate business needs into technical requirements/ measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor application performance and support continuous integration
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and innovation initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as a Full Stack Engineer: JavaScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through iterative development and continuous integration.
  • Skilled in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with business objectives.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
