Senior Application Support Engineer (Python/Linux)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Support Analyst to join a high-performing technology operations team supporting business-critical applications within a global financial services environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 production support for mission-critical trading and business applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, ensuring minimal impact to business operations.
• Manage incident escalation, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Monitor application health, configure monitoring rules, and respond to production alerts.
• Develop and maintain automation using Shell Scripting and Python to improve operational efficiency.
• Manage application configuration changes and coordinate deployments with development and infrastructure teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations.
• Lead projects involving application deployment, server implementation, and operational improvements.
• Support business continuity planning (BCP), IT security initiatives, and audit activities.
• Collaborate closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure stable and reliable production services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, or Technical Operations.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise or financial applications in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Shell Scripting (Bash/Ksh) and Python for automation.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to investigate and analyze production data.
• Good understanding of server infrastructure, networking, and application architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure.
• Strong communication skills in English; Chinese language skills are an advantage
