Site Reliability Engineer (Azure to GCP Migration)

Hybrid Barcelona area. Retail company.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support our cloud migration from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure during and after the transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure as part of the Azure to GCP migration.
• Develop automation and monitoring solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineers, and development teams to ensure a smooth transition.
• Optimize cloud resource usage and implement cost-effective solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and availability issues in production.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed throughout the migration.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Azure and GCP cloud platforms, including networking, storage, and compute services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, Datadog, etc.).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and cloud governance in enterprise environments.

Nice to Have

• GCP or Azure certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
• Knowledge of service mesh architectures (Istio, Linkerd) and API gateways.
