As Team Lead, Forward Deploy Engineers, you will lead a team of engineers who work directly with our customers to build and ship AI agents on the Curie Agent Platform. You'll combine hands-on technical leadership — setting the bar for how the team scopes, designs, and ships agents — with hiring, coaching, and owning our most strategic customer relationships. You'll also be the primary channel turning field learnings into product and roadmap decisions.

About the Role

As Team Lead, Forward Deploy Engineers, you will lead a team of Forward Deploy Agent Engineers who work directly with customers to build and ship AI agents on the Curie Agent Platform. You'll split your time between hands-on technical leadership — setting the bar for how the team scopes, designs, and ships agents — and people leadership, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. You'll own a portfolio of the company's most strategic or complex customer relationships, act as the escalation point when engagements get hard, and be the primary conduit turning field learnings into product and roadmap decisions.

Job Function

Lead the Forward Deploy Team You will own the health and output of a team of Forward Deploy Agent Engineers, including:

• Hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management for the team
• Setting the technical bar across the team's engagements — reviewing architectures, agent designs, and customer-facing artifacts
• Serving as the escalation point on the highest-complexity or highest-risk engagements, stepping in hands-on when needed
• Managing team capacity and account staffing across the customer portfolio

Engage with Customers You will own relationships with a portfolio of strategic and complex accounts, and oversee the team's engagement quality across all of theirs, which includes:

• Acting as the executive-level trusted advisor on your accounts, and the escalation point across the team's accounts
• Overseeing discovery, demonstrations, and proof of concepts to ensure consistency and quality across the team
• Directly leading or unblocking the most technically or politically difficult customer situations
• Helping educate customers and evolve their use of coding agents

Shape the Product Roadmap You will aggregate learnings from across the team's engagements and turn them into structured input for the product and engineering organizations, which includes:

• Representing the field and customer voice in roadmap planning with Curie product and development teams
• Prioritizing and scoping feature requests that come out of the team's customer work
• Defining reusable patterns, playbooks, and best practices that increase the whole team's leverage on future engagements

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in hands-on software development of highly technical products.
• Past experience in Software Development or other similar hands-on development roles at or above the level of Senior/Staff Software Engineer.
• 1-2+ years of experience formally leading or managing engineers, or demonstrated readiness to step into people leadership.
• Track record in a customer-facing technical role (forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting).
• Ability to code in python.
• Experience crafting and tailoring a message for executive and customer audiences, including in escalation or high-stakes situations.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Knowledge of the latest LLM models and their strengths and weaknesses
• Knowledge of AI agent building techniques
• Knowledge of how to design evals

Preferred Skills

• AI related experience such as having developed AI agents as part of work or hobby projects
• Experience partnering with sales leadership on account strategy for strategic enterprise accounts
• Penchant for writing technical blogs and articles, and for mentoring others to do the same
