Role Overview

We are seeking a QA Engineer to join one of our client's team. This position is critical to strengthening and scaling a balanced, automation-led QA strategy across a complex and evolving product.

The ideal candidate is comfortable and confident in both manual and automated testing, with the ability to independently decide when manual testing is appropriate and when automation is required. This role demands ownership, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility for overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities

QA Strategy & Ownership

  • Own end-to-end QA strategy, balancing manual and automated testing based on feature complexity, risk, and release timelines.
  • Make independent decisions on what should be automated vs. what should be tested manually.
  • Drive continuous improvement in testing practices and coverage.

Automation & Manual Testing

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test suites using Selenium with C#.
  • Perform hands-on manual testing for new functionality, edge cases, and exploratory scenarios.
  • Convert stable and repeatable manual test scenarios into automated tests.
  • Execute regression, pre-release, and scheduled test runs.

Test Design, Documentation & Management

  • Create, maintain, and own, Test cases, Test plans and Use case documentation
  • Ensure QA artefacts are clear, structured, current, and reusable.
  • Maintain QA documentation without requiring constant follow-ups or supervision.

Collaboration & Process

  • Work closely with developers to understand business logic, edge cases, and system behaviour.
  • Align QA activities with development workflows and release cycles.
  • Actively contribute to and improve QA workflows, pipelines, and processes within Azure DevOps.
  • Support continuous delivery through structured and predictable QA practices.

What We Are Looking For

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with Selenium for web automation.
  • C# scripting (basic to intermediate level is sufficient).
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining automated regression test suites.
  • Solid hands-on experience with manual testing techniques.
  • Experience working within Azure DevOps (test plans, workflows, pipelines).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft-based development environments.

QA Mindset & Approach

  • Equally comfortable with manual and automated testing.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for QA outcomes.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative without micromanagement.
  • Documentation-focused with high attention to detail.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and process improvements.
