About Lucid
At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucid’s proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our “Compromise Nothing™” approach to the global automotive market. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. In Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, we have designed and built vehicles that have redefined their segments, combining exceptional range, performance, design, and expansive space in a single experience.
We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production happening in-house across our global offices and manufacturing facilities. Our teams come from industries around the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence. By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.
About the Team
The ADAS Data Infrastructure team builds and operates the foundational systems that power autonomous vehicle development. We create scalable platforms, services, and data pipelines that ingest, process, store, and serve large-scale sensor data from vehicle fleets to engineering teams across the company. We build the platforms and services that transform vehicle data into usable datasets for autonomous vehicle development.
The Role
We are looking for a software engineer to help build the data platform that supports autonomous vehicle development. You will design, develop, and operate high-scale data pipelines and backend services responsible for processing and managing large-scale sensor datasets, including camera, LiDAR, and vehicle telemetry data.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving challenging distributed systems and data infrastructure problems, working across the full lifecycle from service development to production operations. You will collaborate closely with internal customers to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions that enable data-driven development of autonomous vehicle technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and data pipelines for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving sensor datasets.
- Develop reliable and scalable systems using Python and AWS cloud services.
- Build APIs, data services, and tooling that enable efficient access to autonomous vehicle data.
- Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Own production services and participate in troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Optimize storage, compute, and data movement costs while maintaining high performance and availability.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Support CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and operational excellence across the platform.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong software development experience in Python.
- Experience building and operating backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
- Professional experience with AWS and deploying applications to Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestrators
- Experience designing data pipelines, ETL systems, or data processing frameworks.
- Experience developing containerized applications, backend microservices, and event-driven systems or data pipelines.
- Past experience in the Autonomous Driving or automotive industry, specifically backend and cloud development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects from design through production operations.
- Experience building distributed systems or data platforms that process large-scale datasets in cloud environments.
