As a Prime Government Contractor for a major government institution, we are currently searching for a talented Junior Windows System Administrator with Secret Clearance to work in Washington DC.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A Junior Windows Systems Administrator maintains and secures Windows-based IT infrastructure, including servers, Active Directory, and workstations. Key duties involve user account management, patching, software deployment, system monitoring, and providing Tier 2/3 technical support. They typically require 0-3 years of experience and work under senior staff to ensure network stability and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Windows Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), and DNS/DHCP.
  • System Maintenance & Patching: Perform routine server backups, monitor system performance (CPU, memory), and apply security patches.
  • User & Access Management: Create, modify, and delete user accounts, manage permissions, and handle password resets.
  • Technical Support: Provide patching to servers, daily monitoring of the Network, Tier II/III support to resolve complex workstation and server-side issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user guides.
  • Security: Implement basic security measures, such as virus scans and firewall management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 1–3 years in IT support or systems administration.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and PowerShell scripting basics.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ is required, MS-102 is required
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational
