Hampton North is partnering with a consumer-focused insurance group that's built a modern, cloud-native annuity administration platform from the ground up. Since launching in 2020, the platform has grown into a multi-module system used across the organization, supporting seamless integrations, advanced analytics, and a strong focus on customer experience. The engineering team behind it is close to 75 people, working on a modern microservices architecture at meaningful scale.

Location

Full Remote (US, east coast hours)

Compensation

$180-210k base

What you'll be doing

• Providing guidance and mentorship to other developers within your pod
• Helping define architectural solutions for the platform
• Interacting directly with program and product owners
• Participating in sprint planning
• Spending the majority of your time writing code on high impact projects

What you'll need

• Experience building complex business applications using Kotlin (or Java)
• Experience creating microservices with Spring Boot
• Experience deploying and maintaining software in a cloud based infrastructure (ideally GCP)
• 5-8+ years of experience as a developer, ideally within insurance or financial services
• Experience implementing event messaging with Apache Kafka
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
• Experience packaging and deploying applications using containers with Kubernetes
