About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity within our engineering team to help build the software that powers advanced sonar technology used in demanding real-world environments. We're looking for a Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and working across software and hardware to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.
You'll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and long-term product support—helping create software that controls, monitors, and visualizes data from our portfolio of sonar systems.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust C/C++ applications for Windows and Linux
- Build software that interfaces directly with advanced sonar hardware.
- Develop new features while improving the performance, stability, and reliability of existing applications.
- Debug complex software and system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries.
- Write unit tests and contribute to system verification and validation.
- Produce clear technical documentation to support testing, maintainability and code reuse.
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to scalable software architecture and modern engineering practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously improve our development processes.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong C/C++ development experience on both Windows and Linux.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and object-oriented design.
- Experience with multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
- Experience with TCP/IP networking and system-level programming.
- Familiarity with Windows APIs, MFC, and embedded Linux tooling e.g Yocto .
- Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- MATLAB experience is a strong asset.
