This role focuses on optimizing Team Member interactions with transactional systems used in fast-paced, compliance-driven store environments. The selected candidate will drive workflow efficiency, accuracy, and usability across critical retail and financial processes while balancing operational realities, regulatory requirements, and technical constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe in-store Team Member workflows to identify friction, workarounds, training gaps, and adoption barriers
  • Lead UX design for high-frequency, compliance-driven retail and financial transactions
  • Architect workflows for item intake, pricing, customer profiles, loyalty enrollment, inventory management, loan processing, payments, and fraud mitigation
  • Design UI logic focused on data accuracy, keyboard-first and mobile navigation, validation, and error prevention
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, risk, compliance, and legal teams to align on business rules and disclosures
  • Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and annotated design specifications for transactional systems
  • Deliver pixel-perfect, production-ready UI designs balancing usability and visual polish
  • Validate designs through usability testing, workshops, and iterative reviews
  • Identify opportunities to reduce keystrokes, shorten learning curves, streamline flows, and minimize operational errors
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems with components optimized for operational workflows
  • Apply AI-assisted design tools to accelerate prototyping and iteration while maintaining design quality

Must-Have Skills

  • 4+ years of UX/UI design experience focused on operational workflows, internal tools, or transaction processing systems
  • Strong expertise in information architecture, form design, workflow optimization, and conditional logic
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining design systems and component libraries
  • Advanced visual design skills with attention to typography, color, spacing, and hierarchy
  • Proven ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into clean, usable UI flows
  • Proficiency with Figma, including Figma AI features and Figma Make
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, operations, and compliance teams
  • Clear communication of design rationale to technical teams and leadership
  • Curiosity and adaptability toward emerging design technologies and AI-assisted workflows
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with item valuation, customer onboarding, identity verification, loyalty programs, or payment capture systems
  • Background designing task-oriented interfaces for non-desk users in high-volume retail environments
  • Experience with AI-assisted prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Figma AI
  • Understanding of stateful prototyping, including focus states, transitions, loading states, and interaction sequences
  • Experience with prompt engineering for design workflows
  • Familiarity with voice, conversational, or multimodal interface patterns
  • Exposure to AI-assisted features with trust, transparency, and override mechanisms
  • Understanding of computer vision interfaces for retail or checkout use cases
  • Portfolio demonstrating AI-assisted design iterations and workflow evolution
