Job Description
Fully Remote Contract — Possible Convert to Hire
US Citizenship Required
This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines, supporting cloud infrastructure, and developing automation around it. The engineer will focus on building reliability, scalability, and observability around deployed software applications, while improving operational efficiencies and implementing security controls by design.
? Critical Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen — no dual citizens
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud experience in production environments
- AWS experience strongly preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and provision cloud infrastructure
- Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software applications
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and introduce orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) as scale requires
- Implement security into deployments by design, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation
- Implement monitoring and observability to track system health, performance, and reliability
- Support database operations including scaling, backups, and recovery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of strong hands-on cloud experience, preferably AWS, in production environments
- In-depth understanding of Docker and containerization workflows, including Kubernetes
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Argo CD, Jenkins, or GitLab Runner
- Solid scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Experience supporting MS-SQL or similar relational databases
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals and access management
