Responsibilities
- Define and communicate technical vision, strategy, and direction
- Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of products
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of engineers
- Establish and enforce best practices, processes, and methodologies
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering culture
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks
- Provide technical guidance, feedback, and mentorship
- Collaborate with senior executives, product managers, customers, and partners
- Represent the company and engineering team in external events
- Stay abreast of latest trends, technologies, and best practices
- Define, evolve, and apply engineering standards
- Advance an AI-first payer operating model
- Ensure solution designs align with reference and solution architectures
- Promote platform thinking to improve scalability, modularity, and interoperability
- Accelerate delivery while minimizing future risk and technical debt
- Establish engineering metrics, strengthen governance, and drive continuous improvement
- Establish and promote standardized development practices
- Ensure secure coding standards and automated environment management
- Drive automation and orchestration across the software development life cycle
- Ensure solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements
- Apply reliability engineering practices to strengthen production operations
- Lead resolution of complex technical issues
- Champion a culture of building solutions the right way
- Ensure alignment with federal employee, government programs, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure alignment with health insurance core operations
- Drive AI-driven automation
- Drive cloud-native, digital-ready modernization
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Product Delivery, and Technology Services teams
Requirements
- 10 years software engineering experience
- At least 5 years in a senior engineer or technical lead role
- Proven track record of delivering successful products and solutions
- Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, complex, and distributed software systems
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing
- Strong knowledge of microservices
- Strong knowledge of DevOps
- Strong knowledge of data engineering
- Strong knowledge of machine learning
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to balance trade-offs and risks
- TriZetto Facets experience required
- Azure experience required
- AWS experience required
