Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions
- Implement secure integrations with IRS and enterprise systems
- Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration services
- Design and implement real-time and near-real-time data exchange solutions
- Support modernization of legacy and mainframe-based systems
- Develop secure APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, data architects, cybersecurity specialists, and business stakeholders
- Implement secure coding practices and integrate security controls
- Support cloud-native data analytics and reporting platforms
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design sessions, code reviews, and modernization planning activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration, performance, and scalability issues
- Develop technical documentation, interface specifications, deployment procedures, and operational support materials
- Support Agile development processes and DevSecOps delivery pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of eight (8) years of software development experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing cloud-native applications and integration solutions
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Proficiency in Java
- Proficiency in Python
- Proficiency in Scala
- Proficiency in C#
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and event-driven architectures
- Experience developing secure APIs and service-oriented solutions
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database technologies
- Must be able to pass a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) check
- Must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
- Experience supporting IRS, Treasury, or other federal civilian agency modernization programs
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms, data lakes, or analytics environments
- Experience integrating cloud and mainframe systems
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity requirements and secure software development practices
- Experience implementing data governance, metadata management, and data quality controls
- Experience working within AWS GovCloud or other federal cloud environments
- Experience supporting large-scale modernization and digital transformation initiatives
