Job Context

Riseup Labs is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to own and drive the end-to-end technical execution of our in-house B2C AI-powered SaaS products, including but not limited to AI-driven customer experience platforms (voice & non-voice), AI content generation tools, and other intelligent automation solutions.The ideal candidate will be responsible for technical architecture, infrastructure, AI engineering oversight, and full-stack development leadership, while managing and mentoring a cross-functional development team in a fast-paced startup environment..

Job Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and manage the full development team (Backend, Frontend, AI/ML, DevOps).

Define coding standards, development best practices, and technical governance.

Conduct code reviews, technical design reviews, and sprint planning.

Collaborate closely with Product, Business, and Management teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases under startup constraints and tight timelines.

Architecture & Infrastructure Ownership

Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-availability system architectures.

Make architectural decisions related to

Monolith vs Microservices

Event-driven architecture

API-first design

Ensure system readiness for large concurrent user bases and rapid growth.

Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Server, Deployment & DevOps

Own server infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

Hands-on experience with

Cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

CI/CD pipelines

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes – preferred)

Manage environments (Dev, Staging, Production).

Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response strategies.

Ensure minimal downtime and smooth release cycles.

Backend & Frontend Engineering Oversight

Strong command over backend system design and implementation.

Solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks and SPA architecture.

Guide the team on

API performance optimization, Authentication & authorization, Data modeling and database optimization, Ability to step in for hands-on development when needed.

AI Engineering & Prompt Expertise

Oversee development of AI-driven features using LLMs and AI services.

Strong understanding of

AI/ML product integration, Prompt engineering and optimization, Model orchestration and evaluation,

Experience working with

OpenAI / Anthropic / Gemini / similar LLM platforms,AI APIs for text, voice, speech-to-text, and NLP use cases

Ensure responsible AI usage, performance optimization, and cost control.

SaaS Product Development & Proven experience building and scaling SaaS platforms

Deep understanding of

Multi-tenant architecture, Subscription & billing systems, Usage tracking and analytics, Ensure product stability, scalability, and maintainability over time.

Scalability, Security & Reliability

Design systems capable of handling high traffic and large concurrent users

Implement

Load balancing strategies, Caching mechanisms, Horizontal and vertical scaling, Ensure security best practices, Data protection, Secure APIs, Role-based access control, Vulnerability management, Oversee compliance and risk mitigation strategies.

Educational Requirements

• B.Sc in Computer Science and Engineering from any reputed public or private university.

Additional Requirements

• Strong experience in **system architecture and infrastructure design**
• Expertise in backend and frontend technologies
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms and DevOps
• Solid background in AI-driven product development
• Experience with microservices, load balancing, and high-availability systems**
• Strong understanding of security best practices Soft Skills & Leadership

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Ability to work under pressure in a **startup environment**
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in **English**

• Experience leading AI-based B2C SaaS products from early stage to scale
• Prior startup or high-growth product company experience
• Exposure to voice AI, conversational AI, or customer experience platforms
• Experience managing distributed or remote teams
