Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing software development and maintenance
  • Design, develop, and implement custom software and database application capabilities
  • Act as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating
  • Provide improvements to the product(s) being supported
  • Actively participate in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations and retrospectives and solution releases
  • Support release planning with conceptual design and development / refinement of software engineering guidelines
  • Analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions
  • Ensure product quality and timeliness of work
  • Provide mentoring to junior members of the team
  • Transform mockups into fully functional user interfaces integrated with API enabled microservice
  • Implement new features
  • Encourage quality code through conducting reviews/leading tests
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Lead design-related conversations

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation
  • 3 year check for felony convictions
  • 1 year check for illegal drug use
  • 1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline or Equivalent professional experience
  • At least seven (7) years related technical experience
  • Software design, development and implementation in a containerized Linux environment
  • Demonstrable professional experience with Python
  • Demonstrable professional experience with PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrable professional experience with Java Spring Boot
  • Demonstrable professional experience with Angular
  • Demonstrable professional experience with microservices architecture
  • Demonstrable professional experience with AWS
  • In-depth knowledge of the Angular Framework (TypeScript, Angular Material, state management)
  • Experience creating RESTful services using Java and spring-boot
  • Expert experience in Python
  • Expert experience in Java

  • Continuously research new and best coding practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build and nurture good relationships and foster an environment for collaboration
  • Object oriented design and development (OODD) expertise
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Experience with source code control systems and concurrent development workflows (Git preferred)
  • Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management

Preferred

  • Technical Certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, OCP Java, etc.
  • Understanding of system architecture concepts
  • Experience with system design (defining service building blocks, data flow, building systems with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind)
  • Familiarity with ETL tools
  • Familiarity with messaging tech such as Kafka
  • Familiarity with application security
  • Familiarity with automated testing
  • Familiarity with UML
  • Familiarity with state-management angular libraries such as NGRX or NGXS
