Responsibilities

Design, build, and enhance backend services
Partner with Product, Design, and Frontend Engineers
Integrate with internal and external APIs
Automate build, test, deployment, and monitoring workflows
Contribute to an iterative development process
Help evolve the Censys public API
Own small-to-medium features from technical design through launch
Participate in design discussions
Share on-call responsibilities
Handle straightforward incidents

Requirements

2-4 years of experience
Experience writing backend services in Go (Golang) or willingness to do so
Foundational understanding of distributed systems
Foundational understanding of common operational challenges
General knowledge of database design
General knowledge of typical database access patterns
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS or GCP)
Strong collaboration skills
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills
Track record of delivering well-defined work at high quality
Knowing when to ask for clarification or help
Learning quickly from mistakes
Open to using AI to amplify skills
Experience building services on GCP

Preferred

Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
