Sargent Aerospace & Defense - Kahr Bearing is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused IT Systems Technician to provide onsite technology support and help advance local IT infrastructure, shop-floor technology, endpoints, connectivity, and collaboration-system projects. This role combines Level 1 and Level 2 support with structured ownership of site deployments and technical work through completion.

The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between office and manufacturing environments, takes ownership of open actions, communicates clearly with requestors and technical partners, and can independently resolve routine issues while escalating advanced network, server, cybersecurity, automation, and business-system design decisions.

Position Summary

The IT Systems Technician supports Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, Teams, printers, conference rooms, shop-floor kiosks and workstations, basic network connectivity, file access, and other workplace technologies. The position serves as an onsite IT resource for Kahr Bearing and is responsible for assigned site projects, troubleshooting issues, maintaining accurate documentation, following work through closure, and supporting continuous improvement of IT services. This position is ideal for an early- to mid-career IT professional seeking to broaden their experience across end-user support, business applications, and IT operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 support for hardware and business applications
  • Image, configure, deploy, and maintain computers, monitors, peripherals, and other endpoint equipment
  • Prepare and validate technology for new hires, employee moves, conference rooms, and production areas
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, cabling, Wi-Fi, and basic network issues
  • Support Microsoft 365, Teams phones, and conference-room technology
  • Support shop-floor technologies, including timeclocks, kiosks, production workstations, printers, CNC network connectivity, and related manufacturing-system endpoints
  • Assist with local infrastructure activities involving file servers, shared folders, and permissions
  • Coordinate Ethernet drops, equipment installations, and dependencies with internal partners and approved vendors
  • Assist with manufacturing applications and integrations such as CIMCO, FactoryTrack, GageTrak, and similar systems by supporting endpoint setup, connectivity, licensing, access, installation, testing, and issue documentation
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, software records, spare equipment, storage areas, cable standards, and documentation
  • Own assigned tickets and project actions from intake through completion, including status updates, dependency tracking, requestor communication, validation, and closure
  • Monitor recurring issues and recommend practical improvements that increase reliability, standardization, security, and support efficiency
  • Coordinate support and installations with IT teams, business stakeholders, contractors, and technology vendors
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, audits, compliance activities, cybersecurity controls, and other IT projects as assigned
  • Travel to other local company locations as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of IT support, desktop support, or systems technician experience
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, and shared workstations
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to organize multiple open actions, identify dependencies, provide status updates, and follow work through
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams
  • Ability to lift and move typical IT equipment and work at desks, production workstations, and network closets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL certification(s)
  • Experience providing onsite IT support in a manufacturing or other industrial environment
  • Experience with Active Directory, Intune, endpoint imaging, group permissions, and file-share administration
  • Exposure to CIMCO, FactoryTrack, GageTrak, manufacturing execution systems, or shop-floor applications
  • Basic PowerShell or scripting experience
  • Experience with asset management, ticketing systems, technical documentation, and CI/Lean practices
