Responsibilities

  • Upgrade application Java and JDK versions
  • Support Java and application-runtime currency
  • Support middleware-version currency
  • Upgrade application libraries and dependencies
  • Identify and remediate obsolete or vulnerable software dependencies
  • Support application certificate-renewal changes
  • Support application credential and secret changes
  • Implement interface and schema modifications
  • Perform secure-coding remediation
  • Evaluate application compatibility with OpenShift and RHEL/Linux
  • Conduct developer-level validation
  • Support application release preparation
  • Prepare rollback and recovery inputs
  • Maintain application configuration baselines
  • Maintain application dependency inventories
  • Document technical-currency modifications
  • Produce technical remediation evidence
  • Support modernization and technical-currency work packages
  • Support Government technical reviews and deployment activities
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant application/software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot
  • Experience with JDK and Java runtime upgrades
  • Experience with software-library and dependency management
  • Experience with dependency vulnerability remediation
  • Experience with IBM webMethods or comparable enterprise middleware
  • Experience with application certificate and credential management
  • Experience with interface and schema modifications
  • Knowledge of secure software-development practices
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes
  • Experience with RHEL/Linux environments
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes
  • Experience with developer-level testing and validation
  • Experience with rollback planning
  • Experience with application configuration management
  • Experience with technical documentation
