What Will I be Doing?

The QA Architect will be responsible for defining and implementing the overall quality strategy for complex distributed systems, focusing on API testing, microservices architecture, and performance engineering. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery

• Quality Strategy & Architecture
• Design and implement scalable QA frameworks for API and microservices-based applications.
• Define best practices for automated testing, performance testing, and continuous quality integration.
• Establish quality metrics and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• API & Microservices Testing
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Validate service contracts, data integrity, and inter-service communication.
• Implement service virtualization and mocking strategies for isolated testing.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized test environments.
• Performance & Scalability Testing
• Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests for distributed systems.
• Analyze system bottlenecks and provide recommendations for optimization.
• Utilize tools like JMeter, Gatling, or similar for performance benchmarking.
• Collaboration & Leadership
• Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to integrate quality practices into CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor QA engineers and promote a culture of quality across teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews and provide input on testability and reliability.

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

• Technical Expertise
• Strong experience in API testing (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner).
• Solid programming/scripting skills in C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core, .NET 5/6/7).
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, MSTest).
• Quality Engineering
• Expertise in test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed systems.
• Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with cross-functional teams

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Experience with contract testing (e.g., Pact).
• Experience with Datadog or other observability platforms for monitoring and tracing.
• Knowledge of security testing for APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
• Knowledge of Azure Key Vault and best practices for managing secrets and configuration in cloud environments.
