While primarily remote, this role requires visits to the office in Coimbra once per week.

About the Role

Intermedia is looking for a Senior Java Developer with hands-on experience to contribute to the development of our IP phone configuration server.

The role involves regular collaboration with Product Owners and Development and QA Leads.

What you will be doing

• Analyze phone configuration documentation and create integration specifications aligned with Intermedia’s Call Server requirements.
• Lead the implementation and validation of changes to support new and updated phone models.
• Investigate complex issues involving VoIP, SIP, networking, endpoint devices, and device configuration.
• Create and maintain technical configuration guides for Development, QA, and Support teams.
• Implement analytics and usage metrics, and perform profiling and performance optimization of the phone provisioning server.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, maintainable code following Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to development and testing best practices.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge of VoIP technologies, endpoint devices, and provisioning mechanisms.

What you will bring to the role

• A degree or relevant technical education in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with server-side development in Java.
• Linux server development experience, including Nginx, Tomcat, and command-line tools.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or Percona.
• Basic knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and IP networking.
• Basic knowledge of network programming, including sockets and TCP/UDP.
• Basic understanding of IP security principles, including TLS and certificate management.
• Experience using Wireshark or tcpdump for network analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of IP phones, endpoint devices, device configuration, and provisioning mechanisms is desirable.
• A willingness to continuously learn and develop expertise in telecommunications, endpoint provisioning, and related technologies.
